How easy is it to win at the Football Pools?

In a nutshell, I would have to say very difficult.
But that said there are certain things unlike with the lotto which appears to be a game of pure chance, which you can do to increase your chances and hopefully one day land the jackpot!

Here I would like to share with you, some possible strategies for increasing your chances of gaining entry into the winners circle, like Red Rum as the great grand national approaches.

First of all, let's turn to our friendly and knowledgeable bookie for a helping hand. Log on to the internet to one of the bookies sites e.g. www.victorchandler.com
and click on football and the long list of the forthcoming weekend soccer matches.

If you look at the odds offered for each game ending in a draw, you will notice that most matches are priced at around from 2-1 to 3-1, so not much help here then!

But what I have discovered is that matches where the home team are priced around evens odds e.g.
1/1/ or 5/6 or 5/4 etc. deserve further inspection. Compile a short list of these matches.

In my next post I will share with you my strategy for further analysis of these matches in order to make your final selections of e.g. ten matches likely to end in a draw.

If you would like to receive weekly fixed odds soccer speculating selections, then send us your contact details using the form below and hopefully we can help you to take the bookies to the cleaners.

Happy punting and best of luck,

Soccer Speculating Riches with the Football Pools

Soccer Speculating with the Football Pools

The british public have long since held an affectionate place in their hearts for the good old football pools. Long before the days of the lotto, the football pools as well as the premium bonds were seen as the dream ticket for most UK citizens.

In those days you could choose from Littlewods, Vernons and Zetters.
Today you have one choice or medium for trying your luck or skill, when it comes to predicting those games in the British football leagues which you think will end in a draw (three points for a score draw and two points for a no score draw).

That choice is www.footballpools.com still based in that hot bed of English football, Liverpool.

In simple terms you need eight score draws on your coupon containing around fifty matches, in order to scoop the jackpot, which can be a juicy £3,000,000! Waw! Just imagine, enough to pay Wayne Rooney or Steven Gerrard’s wages for 30 weeks of the season! Money well spent? Possibly not in this day of brooding, pampered primodonas.

What happened to the good old days when Kevin Keegan, Kenny Dalglish, Bob Latchford, Kevin Ratcliffe and Alan Ball used to grace the Merseyside derby. Cast your minds back to 1977, Liverpool had just won the European Cup and Kevin Keegan was on his way to play for SV Hamburg. His replacement was signed from Celtic for the princely sum of £440,000. Who was he? Possibly the greatest player to wear the red shirt, in front of the passionate kop. King Kenny Dalglish.

Back to the football pools, after that bout of 1970’s nostalgia. For the modest sum of £1 you get ten selections. Obviously more than ten selections and the entry cost inflates like Rooney’s wage bill!

One option in order to increase your chances of winning by getting e.g. 15 selections, would be to form a syndicate, possibly including family, friends or work colleagues.

So how difficult is it to win at the football pools and is there anything you can do to increase your chances of success?

This question will be dealt with in my next post.

Speak to you soon.

Happy punting,
